Thala Ajith’s “Vedalam” got the positive response from the audiences on opening day and successfully collected Rs. 15.5 Cr as the first-day amount. On Tuesday,  the movie experienced competition from Kamal Haasan’s “Thoonga Vanam”. But the flick defended it very well.

At US box office, “Vedhalam” collected decent amount but “Thoongavanam” heads first in this race as per tweet of trade tracker Ramesh, “#Thoongaavanam does well on Tuesday in #USA $87,986 Total 2 days $164, 027 and moves ahead of #Vedalam Tue $42,621 ($135,104 2 days)”.

For the first day, the movie has collected a whopping amount of Rs. 22 Cr (worldwide) as per the report tweeted by CNN-IBM. This movie broke all opening day BO collection in the Kollywood Industry.

On Wednesday, “Vedalam” on its domestic screens got good occupancy and made the business of Rs. 10 Cr. Well, the figures were not officially confirmed. The filmmakers was expected it to increase more and consecutive days but the big budget movie, “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” failed to stood firm.

According to the tweet by Cine Shore, “Vedhalam” on the third day collected an amount of Rs.64 Lacs from theatres of Kerala and made a total business of Rs. 2.71 Cr.

Today being partial holiday, “Vedhalam” now is not able to collect much amount of money because the flick is experiencing the huge competition of recently released “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo”. PRDP causes the drop in both occupancy and collection within the state.
