Edelmiro & Ismael Were Killed In An Ambush

The two officers lost their lives in an ambush shooting. The suspect, identified as 23-year-old Aldon Ignacio Caramillo, called the police department for a fake domestic violence case and then shot the two officers when they arrived at the scene.

“What I’m trying to tell you is the officers never had a chance to suspect a deadly assault on them,” McAllen Police Chief Victor Rodriguez said while expressing deep grievances to having lost two of his good friends.

“These are difficult moments,” he continued, “The officers came here to maintain peace. Instead, they were taken down by gunfire.”

The Chief has not disclosed any further details of the ambush.

The Suspect Aldon Caramillo Shot Himself Dead

The other policemen arrived at the scene after a neighbour heard and reported several gunshots fired in close proximity. The officers approached Aldon while he hid behind a vehicle, and they told him to drop the gun, according to Rodriguez. Aldon had already killed police officer Edelmiro Graza and police officer Ismael Chavez McAllen PD.

The police force grew and surrounded the area, repeatedly yelled at the suspect to lower his weapon. It’s when the suspect Aldon Caramillo pulled the gun on himself, Rodriguez confirmed.
