Aditya Chopra, the producer of Sultan, uttered in an interview, “…the numbers could have been a bit higher and we could have crossed Rs 200 Crore mark in the first weekend if Eid’s holiday was not postponed one day further.”

The shifting of Eid from July 6th to 7th (Thursday) kind of supported the film. The audiences had already booked the tickets, assuming Wed to be an off-day. A confidential source reported, that Sultan collected Rs 18 Cr from pre-release bookings, more than that of Kick.

But in some countries where Hindi is spoken or Indians live densely like New Zealand, Pakistan, Britain, Australia, and UAE-GCC; the figures are quite comfortable, more than other Bollywood movies.

Today, the flick’s Box Office Collection is expected to be around Rs 13-13.5 Cr from India and Rs 2-3 Crore overseas. The occupancy recorded in theaters on Sultan 2nd Wednesday BO has been around 40-45%. Most of its earnings are coming from single screens. The film is still not tax-free in many of the states in India which definitely is adding up to total profit.
